Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA): Draft Regulations Update
Following the draft of new regulations which stated that in the coming time all cars must use lower than 4.83L of fuel per 100 km average (as at the end of 2024, there are approximately 4% of current gasoline car models able to qualify that requirement). Post the draft, VAMA proposed an amendment - 6.0L of fuel per 100km as the new cut-off point - which is far more realistic and workable for Vietnamese marketplace. The VAMA update includes a projection of 34% decrease in gasoline cars and 366% increase in electric cars. Listed companies having auto dealership business in Vietnam include: Vingroup (VIC VN), Tasco (HUT VN), Haxaco (HAX VN), City Auto (CTF VN), and TMT Motors (TMT VN).
TNR Realty: Hanoi-connected Investor updates on Gibraltar projects - Eastside and Elysium
In recent days, Internationally expanding TNR Realty though its associate ROX Living - TNG Global issued press releases stating the advancement of two iconic projects in Gibraltar: 1) Eastside (an estimated GBP300 million project); 2) Elysium Bayside (a luxury integrated luxury condominium and retail project between Gibraltar’s CBD and marina). Eastside will deliver 1,300+ apartments, 200 room hotel, 500 space car park, conference centre and retail spaces.
PV Oil (OIL VN): SK Energy of South Korea has been divesting
SK Energy sold 10.8 million OIL VN shares, decreasing its stake to 43.3 million shares, equivalent to 4.2% ownership, thus no longer a major shareholder of PV Oil. Before that, SK divested of many equity investments including Masan Group (MSN VN), Vingroup (VIC VN), Imexpharm (IMP VN), etc. as well as progressively closing its rep offices in both Ha Noi and HCMC. OIL VN closed at VND12,100 per share on 29th August 2025, hence 41.8x P/E and 1x P/B.
Dat Xanh Group (DXG VN): Dragon Capital continues selling
3 funds managed by Dragon Capital sold collectively 3.9 million DXG VN shares but the group still held 139.3 million shares, equivalent to 13.7% ownership. DXG VN closed at VDN22,800 per share on 29th August 2025, thus 72.3x P/E and 1.2x P/B.
Gia Lai Province: 42 potential projects with committed investment of USD3.6 billion
The provincial authority announced MOUs in project investment with many large corporations, in which there have been 23 industrial projects, 13 agricultural projects, 3 tourism and hospitality projects, 2 residential real estate projects, and a logistics project. Notable investors include Vingroup (VIC VN), THACO Agri (unlisted) – the largest shareholder of HAGL Agrico (HNG VN), and TTC AgriS (SBT VN).
