HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
The Vietnam Road Administration has proposed adding three new expressways to the National Road Network Plan to enhance inter-regional connectivity and expand logistics and cross-border transport corridors. The proposed routes include Lang Son – Thai Nguyen – Tuyen Quang – Yen Bai – Son La; Cao Bang – Tuyen Quang – Lao Cai – Son La; and Phan Thiet – Bao Loc – Gia Nghia, with a total length of over 850 km. All are expected to be invested in after 2030 with four lanes. Notably, the northern routes are expected to support the formation of new East-West economic corridors, increasing connectivity between international border gates, production centers, seaports, and airports, thereby supporting the development of industry, logistics, and urban areas in the northern midland and mountainous regions. Meanwhile, the Phan Thiet – Bao Loc – Gia Nghia route will increase connectivity between the Central Highlands and the southern seaport and airport system, supporting the transportation of bauxite, alumina, and agricultural exports, while reducing logistics costs and transportation time.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market rose sharply, officially reaching its all-time high at 1,925 points, with significantly reduced liquidity compared to the previous trading session. Improved capital flows were driven by the banking sector and a few large-cap real estate stocks. Selling pressure decreased and was mainly concentrated in mid- and small-cap stocks in the industrial services, oil and gas, chemical, and basic resources sectors. Foreign investors ended their fifteen-session net selling streak. Although the VN-Index closed positively, the main movement during the session was a narrow range of fluctuations with a high degree of caution. A bright spot in the session was the broad positive performance of stocks that both led the index and had high market potential, such as banks. If this positive trend continues, the VN-Index could very well enter a new positive phase under consensus, rather than rising under the pull of a few specific stocks lacking investment opportunities as in the previous period.
The VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around the 1,915-1,935 point range today. Investors should closely monitor each stock in their portfolio, especially at resistance levels, to maintain a reasonable weighting and avoid being swept along by the ups and downs of the overall index.
