HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
According to the latest research report from the Global Investment Research Department, HSBC has raised its forecast for Vietnam's GDP growth in 2025 from 6.6% to 7.9%; inflation increased slightly to 3.3% compared to 3.2% in the previous assessment. This result has helped Vietnam become the economy with the best expected growth in 2025 in the ASEAN region. HSBC also assessed that the important factor helping Vietnam maintain positive growth momentum lies in the stability in production and trade activities with a growth rate of nearly 20% in total import-export value by the end of the third quarter of 2025.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to launch an investigation against the evasion of trade defense measures after two major steel manufacturers in Vietnam requested clarification of anti-dumping tax evasion on hot-rolled steel from China. The investigated items are mainly hot-rolled steel products with widths greater than 1,880 mm and less than or equal to 2,300 mm.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market recovered positively and closed at 1,680 points with liquidity equivalent to the previous trading session. Green spread across most industry groups. The most positive were stocks leading the industrial services, retail, finance sectors, and some small and medium-cap stocks in the real estate, construction, and materials sectors. The VN-Index today is likely to fluctuate around the 1,670-1,695 point area.
The market increased dramatically after a series of high-intensity and wide-amplitude fluctuations. Although liquidity has not improved much, it is commensurate with the index's resilience. However, the widespread activation of bottom-fishing cash flow at important support zones will likely help the VN-Index return to a positive state, heading towards the next resistance zone around 1,720-1,740 points. Investors with a tendency towards short-term trading should pay attention to controlling their portfolios according to the individual characteristics of each stock, avoiding being swept away by the general market movements. On the other hand, buying for the purpose of holding for the medium and long term can be considered when the stock price shows signs of re-accumulation or recovery at support zones.
