Key Highlights
At the national conference to review and implement Resolution 18 of the 12th Central Committee, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính highlighted significant socio-economic achievements over the past 11 months, surpassing results from the same period last year in most areas. All 15 key targets are expected to meet or exceed the plan, particularly the growth target. Annual growth is projected at over 7%, placing Vietnam among the few countries with high growth rates regionally and globally. Macroeconomic stability has been maintained, with inflation controlled below 4%.
As of late November 2024, total import-export turnover is estimated at approximately $715 billion, an increase of 15.3%, with a trade surplus of over $23 billion. The full-year forecast is $807.7 billion, marking a record high. FDI remains a standout, placing Vietnam among the top 15 developing countries attracting the most FDI worldwide. Over 11 months, FDI inflows reached $31 billion, while realized FDI amounted to $20.4 billion, a 7% increase and the highest in years.
Trading Strategy
The stock market moved within a narrow range, closing slightly higher at 1,251 points, with lower liquidity compared to the previous session. Cash flow remained subdued, concentrating mainly on leading stocks in real estate, banking, and technology. The VN-Index is expected to continue fluctuating around the 1,250–1,255 range today.
The market is currently in a short-term recovery trend. However, overall sentiment remains cautious, slowing the VN-Index as it approaches the critical resistance zone of 1,260–1,270 points. This has resulted in more frequent minor corrections during sessions rather than strong rallies. Consequently, cash flow is largely rotating between large-cap stocks or leading stocks supported by proprietary trading and foreign investors. Investors are advised to maintain controlled positions in fundamental stocks aligned with medium- to long-term strategies. Short-term trading should focus on a flexible reinvestment strategy, avoiding over-diversification.
