Ninh Binh: On March 27, 2024, Gaia Nature Conservation Center, in collaboration with VPS Securities Joint Stock Company, organized the planting of 1,100 native trees at Cuc Phuong National Park. This reforestation activity helps protect biodiversity, respond to climate change, and create a safe and healthy home for wildlife. Participating in the program, the VPS team had a day of reforestation experience and explored magnificent nature at a location recognized as Asia's leading national park for five consecutive years.
Arriving at Cuc Phuong, Vietnam's first and oldest national park, the VPS team was amazed by the multi-layered old forest; the tree tops seemed endlessly high. The forest had fresh air, fragrant with the smell of grass and trees, and the soothing greenery uplifted everyone's spirits after a long journey.
The VPS's Representative shared: "As one of the largest securities companies in Vietnam, we always strive to build a more prosperous Vietnam with the philosophy of 'opening up financial investment opportunities to everyone'. Not only ensuring steady business growth, VPS also emphasizes its responsibility towards the community, environment, and society by pursuing sustainable development goals and spreading meaningful life values through green and charitable activities. This year, VPS contributed 1,100 trees, helping to create a green legacy that can last thousands of years, generating positive values for the entire ecosystem, and building a sustainable future for future generations."
Ms. Đỗ Thị Thanh Huyền, the founder and director of Gaia Nature Conservation Center, also shared: "The area designated for reforestation was previously local residences and farms, which were returned to the national park. Consequently, it was quite barren and lacking in native large trees. In participating in reforestation, VPS collaborated with Gaia to enhance the ecological values of the forest, such as absorbing CO2, responding to climate change, and creating a safe, healthy habitat for rare animal species like the white-cheeked gibbon, banded civet, clouded leopard, and Malayan sun bear."
Everyone was fully informed about the program and was excited to plant trees and share words of love to help the trees grow better. At noon, the group visited Dreamy Mạc Lake for a meal, enjoying the picturesque scenery. The afternoon was a journey back in time, visiting the Ancient Human Cave and exploring the deep connection between humans and nature.
On the Green Legacy tree planting day, we concluded with a modest achievement: the VPS team contributed to our green planet. In the future, the 1,100 trees growing in the VPS forest will contribute to Vietnam's greenhouse gas reduction goals, with a value equivalent to 4-5 billion VND per tree. Additionally, over the next four years, the forest's growth process will be reported annually to VPS.
We hope that VPS's series of green activities will contribute a small part to the collective effort, spreading the message of love and responsibility for the environment to create a greener future for future generations.
