HIGHLIGHTED NEWS
According to the Customs Department, as of mid-June 2026, Vietnam's total import and export turnover reached nearly US$496.7 billion, of which exports reached US$239.9 billion and imports reached US$256.7 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of nearly US$16.8 billion. Imports increased sharply, mainly in the production materials group, with computers, electronics, and components reaching over US$99.2 billion. Exports were driven by the manufacturing industry, with three items alone – computers, electronics and components, machinery and equipment, and telephones and components – reaching a total turnover of over US$122 billion, accounting for more than half of the country's total export turnover.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Document No. 4583/BCT-DL requesting localities to review and update the revised Power Development Plan VIII to ensure electricity supply for socio-economic development. Accordingly, highly feasible power generation and grid projects that utilize existing transmission infrastructure and can be implemented quickly will be prioritized, especially in the North, to meet operational needs during the 2027-2028 period. At the same time, localities are required to review projects that have not yet attracted investors and update electricity demand data from centers to support planning.
TRADING STRATEGY
The stock market recovered positively, reaching 1,857 points, with liquidity falling below the average of the previous week. Market differentiation intensified. Capital tended to concentrate and rotate mainly among large-cap VN30 stocks. Meanwhile, selling pressure increased slightly in the mid- and small-cap groups. Foreign investors temporarily halted high-intensity net selling and resumed net buying in some specific stocks. Overall, the VN-Index is in a state where the higher the index rises, the more cautious the general sentiment becomes, liquidity weakens, and differentiation becomes more pronounced due to the lack of sufficiently reliable, mass-market destinations. Therefore, the appropriate strategy for medium- and long-term investors at this stage remains to accumulate stocks with attractive market prices relative to valuations and fundamental growth prospects, rather than being swept along by the fluctuations of the general index.
The VN-Index is likely to fluctuate around the 1,850-1,870 point range today. Short-term traders should closely monitor price movements and independently manage each individual stock in their portfolio to optimize their position and minimize passivity in risk management.
